Saffron Coupe or Negin:

This is the best kind of Irani Saffron that has the best quality and the highest coloring power. In order to collect Saffron Coupe (Negin), farmers separate the red and large stigmas that the lower parts of their strands are connected together. There is no yellow part or cream in this type of Saffron. In the classification of Persian Saffron Coupe, if the much taller stigmas are collected which the tips of them are bulkier and thicker, this type of Saffron is called super Saffron Coupe that is the most expensive and the finest kind of Saffron. In general, the coloring power of Saffron Coupe (Negin) is between 230 and 270 degrees.


Saffron Cut or Sargol:


In the classification of Saffron types after Saffron Coupe (negin), Cut Saffron (Sargol) is the best type of Persian Saffron which has the highest coloring power.

Farmers gather the red and bulky stigmas separated from each other and the lowest parts of them not attached together and place them in a category which is called the Cut Saffron (sargol). Similar to Saffron Coupe (negin), Cut Saffron (sargol) has no yellow part or cream but the only difference between them relies on the size of the stigmas. Cut Saffron is about 3 to 4 millimeters shorter than Saffron Coupe. The coloring power of Cut Saffron is between 210 and 230. The Saffron experts divided the Cut Saffron in two classifications, super premium Cut Saffron and premium Cut Saffron based on the thickness, length, flaccidity and frangibility.


 Saffron Thread or Poushal


The other type of Saffron is called Saffron Thread (poushal), in order to collect this type of Saffron,.

The first product of IRAN Saffron is Bunch (daste) which is the most common method of trading among farmers and producers.

This type of Saffron displays the completed threads of Saffron from the red stigma to white root.
